What is a crypto wallet and how to secure it
In short: A wallet holds the keys that let you spend your crypto. On a platform, the platform holds them; in a personal wallet you do, thanks to a recovery phrase you must never share.
Types of wallets
On a platform: simple, but you depend on its soundness. Software (app): you hold your keys, but your phone must be secure. Hardware: a small offline device, safer for large amounts.
The recovery phrase
12 or 24 words that can rebuild your wallet. Whoever has them can take everything. Write them on paper, keep them safe, never type them into a website.
Common mistakes
Sending to the wrong address or network (often irreversible), clicking a fake link, installing a fake app.
