How to manage risk when investing
In short: Risk management matters more than stock picking: never risk a large share of your capital on one idea, diversify, avoid leverage and size each investment according to its volatility.
Position size
Many traders cap the possible loss on one trade at 1 or 2% of their capital. For investors, the idea is not to hold more than 5 to 10% in a single stock.
Adapt to volatility
A crypto moving ±30% a month is not handled like a large stock moving ±5%. The radar forecasts that volatility for every asset.
The risk of a sharp drop
It is the radar's most solid forecast: on years never seen, assets rated high risk fell more than 10% in a month about 2.5 times more often than the others.
